The new garden classroom at Rainbow Bridge Hawaiʻi is getting closer to completion.
One of the biggest recent steps has been the concrete pour, bringing the space much closer to being ready for classes, workshops, and community gatherings.
The absolute deadline is January 2027, when the classroom will need to be ready for our upcoming Permaculture Design Course.
Creating a Garden Classroom in Hawaiʻi
The garden classroom is being designed as a flexible space where people can gather, learn, and spend time together.
Once complete, it will be used for both kids garden classes and adult garden classes, giving us a dedicated place for hands-on education connected to gardening, permaculture, and caring for the land.
Having a classroom right near the gardens will make it easier to combine discussion and instruction with practical learning outside.
More Than Just a Classroom
While education is a major part of the vision, the space will also serve as a gathering place for the Rainbow Bridge community.
We’re imagining movie nights, games, and plenty of informal time together. There are even plans for a ping pong table.
Creating spaces where people can learn together is important, but so is having places where people can simply connect and enjoy being together.
Getting Ready for the Permaculture Design Course
The biggest milestone on the calendar is our Permaculture Design Course in January 2027.
That gives the project a very clear deadline.
By then, the garden classroom will be ready to welcome students and provide a dedicated space for lessons, conversations, and group activities throughout the course.
The recent concrete pour is an exciting sign of how close we are getting.
A Space for Learning and Community
At Rainbow Bridge Hawaiʻi, many of our projects grow out of the same idea: creating spaces that support both the land and the people living and learning here.
The garden classroom will give us more room to offer garden education for both children and adults while also creating another place for the community to gather.
There is still work to do before January, but the classroom is quickly taking shape.
We’re excited to see the first classes, movie nights, games, and gatherings happen in the space soon.
