The story of Rainbow Bridge Hawaii is not only of hard work, devotion, and teamwork, but also of magic, miracles and synchronicity. Many years of love and labor have gone into this land, and we honor every hand which has touched its soil, planted its seeds, and harvested from its trees.
Around 28 years ago, Grigor purchased the land shortly after sugar cane production had halted on the Hāmākua coast. As soon as he saw the parcel now known as Rainbow Bridge, he immediately knew it was the one. He quickly started clearing the cane, building his home, and setting up off-grid systems. Over the years he planted hundreds of fruit trees, including a large variety of ice cream beans and a 250 tree kaimana lychee orchard.
In early 2020, Zack and Madeleine (pictured on either side of Grigor) moved to the land as tenants, and had no idea that they would soon become partial owners in May of 2020. Grigor had a vision of creating a spiritually-minded community on the land for many years, but did not have the strong support to create the momentum. Together the three owners have teamed up to make their collective dream come true. Hence came Rainbow Bridge Hawaii.
Whether it be through volunteering, internships, work-trade, or donations, we love and appreciate all gifts made to the land, people, or animals of Rainbow Bridge Hawaii, and strive to give back in the spirit of the gift any way that we can.
